Hyperpigmentation is due to an overproduction of melanin, the pigment that gives our skin, hair and eyes their natural color. Hyperpigmentation appears in the form of cutaneous plaques. This overproduction is triggered by various factors; however, the main ones are sun exposure, genetic factors, age, hormonal influences and skin lesions or inflammation.
Sun exposure is the most important cause of hyperpigmentation, since sunlight causes the skin to produce melanin as a sunscreen protecting us from harmful UV rays.
For the treatment of spots, melasma, freckles and other hyperpigmentations we offer different alternatives. Such as chemical peeling, Qswitched laser treatment, COSMELAN treatment.
